European Society for Quantum Solar Energy Conversion

QUANTSOL 2012 Winter workshop

Hotel Europäischer Hof, Bad Gastein, Austria, March 11-16, 2012
Call for Extended Summary

The European Society for Quantum Solar Energy Conversion announces the 24th Workshop on Quantum Solar Energy Conversion (QUANTSOL 2012 Winter workshop) and invites experts in the various fields of conversion of solar photons to electrical or chemical energy to submit short abstracts enabling us to select a new group for 2012.
This workshop continues the long series of lively meetings. We will focus on the exchange of new concepts, radical ideas, recent developments, and unsolved problems in the fundamentals of conventional and unconventional photovoltaic, photoelectrochemical, photochemical and photobiological energy conversion. Also new ideas are welcome as long as they fit to the general concept, i.e. quantum solar energy conversion (not including solar thermal technologies). The number of participants is limited to guarantee the opportunity for intense discussions on quantum solar energy conversion with experts from various fields.

The Quantsol 2012 Workshop will be organized by

Chairmen: Gary Hodes (Weizmann Institute, Israel)

Efrat Lifshitz (Technion, Israel)

Christian Königstein (Secretary General, NL / AT)

Conference Location : Hotel Europäischer Hof, Bad Gastein, Österreich

Prices per person per day including
(half board - breakfast & dinner):

single room* € 127,-

(shared) double room* € 127,-
* incl. Kurtaxe

Main Topics :

  • Inorganic semiconductor solar cells: advances in materials, processing, device concepts, and fundamental understanding
  • Organic (polymer and small molecule) solar cells: advances in materials, processing, device concepts, and fundamental understanding
  • Photochemical, photobiological (artificial photosynthesis) and photoelectrochemical conversion of solar energy
  • Dye sensitized solar cells and photoelectrochemical devices
  • Novel photovoltaic materials, including molecular, nanostructured and composite materials
