  • QUANTSOL Student Prize 2008
    A student prize for the best PhD thesis that had been submitted in 2005, 2006 or 2007, has ben awarded during the Quantsol 2008 Winterworkshp to Dr. Radim Beranek from the Department of Chemistry & Pharmacy, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg for his thesis "From Photocatalysis to Optoelectronic Switches: Studies of Visible Light Active Photoelectrodes Based on Surface-Modified Titanium Dioxide."

  • Research Award for Young European Scientists
    The Research Award for Young European Scientists for an outstanding contribution to the research in quantum solar energy conversion was awarded to Dr. Petra DeJongh, University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, for her PhD thesis entitled "Photoelectrochemistry of Nanoporous, Particulate Semiconductors". The ceremony took place during the Quanstol 2000 workshop in Wolkenstein (Italy);

Other activities

  • 2nd Euroconference on Photovoltaic Devices: High Efficiency Solar Cells
    September 8-13, 2001, at Tomar (Lisbon), Portugal.
    This Conference followed the very successful preceding Euroconference on Thin Film Solar Cell Technology held in Teltow-Berlin (Germany - 1999). The second Euroconference on Photovoltaic Devices: High Efficiency Solar Cells was held on September 8-13, 2001, at Tomar (Lisbon), Portugal. The aim of the Euroconference series, in the framework of the EURESCO programme of the European Science Foundation (ESF), is to bring together well established scientific experts with younger scientists working in the photovoltaic field to promote further scientific exchange and excellence in Europe. Therefore, young scientists (under the age of 35) will be encouraged to participate and should make up approx. 50% of the participants. The ESF will promote the participation and give travel and conference grants to qualifying participants. Overviews, key lectures and lectures will be given by scientific experts in high efficiency Solar Cells. You are cordially invited to attend the Conference and contribute to posters. The number of participants will be around 100, in order to keep the atmosphere informal to favor exchanges. If you have any questions concerning the conference please feel free to contact the conference Chairperson:

  • FOURTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON NEW TRENDS IN PHOTOELECTROCHEMISTRY NTP-4
    This meeting followed the three preceding symposiums held in Altavilla Milicia (Sicilia-Italy - 1991), Tokyo (Japan - 1994), Estes Park (Colorado, USA - 1997).
    The Fourth international Symposium on New trends in Photoelectrochemistry was held on June 28-30, 1999, in Sophia-Antipolis (Nice), France.
